About 'Bellis':
'Bellis' is a 6 song set by Lazy Salon created using samples, sensory percussion, live drumming, keyboards & loops. The resulting songs are a meditative collection that touch upon both electronic & organic qualities, with a nod to the moody & melodic side of downtempo, dub, textured beats & modern soundtrack psychedelia. The performances are digital in nature but also very hand-made in their production. The floral track titles reflect a sense of new growth, restorative rebirth and infinite new paths. 'Bellis' is an ear-bud friendly mini-album to pair with a lovely slide from spring into summer.
About Lazy Salon:
Lazy Salon is New Jersey-based producer & multi-instrumentalist Sean Byrne, creating atmospheric instrumental music with reference points ranging from electronic, dub and shoegaze pop, to live & processed percussive elements, post-rock, soundtracks and international sounds new & old.
Prior to Lazy Salon, Byrne was the primary songwriter in the dream-pop-folk duo The Twin Atlas and the drummer for a variety of Philadelphia area bands including Lenola, Mazarin, BC Camplight and others.
Beginning in late 2014 into 2015, Byrne release a trio of EPs as Lazy Salon, which were followed by his debut full-length ‘Invisible Like Peace’ in spring 2017, alongside a guest mix on London’s NTS radio.
After 2018's 'Boot Magna' remix & outtakes collection, Byrne returned in spring of 2020 with Lazy Salon's self-titled sophomore album, along with two guest mixes on Los Angeles-based Dublab radio.
2020 ended with the guitar-centric 'Twilight Properties' mini-album, after which the project went on hiatus, with Byrne also drumming in the post-rock trio Camino Sound and contributing to several releases by the lo-fi guitar-loop project xpoemsx.
'Bellis' (out 6/2/23) is the first new release for Lazy Salon in over 2 and a half years, and while still existing within the overall melodic sensibility of prior releases, 'Bellis' shifts focus back to more electronic-inspired and beat-driven approaches previously hinted at across Lazy Salon's discography.
